Radio and flight — for a quarter century.
Hi! I'm Marcin, callsign SP8MB, from Świdnik, Poland. Radio has been my life for over 25 years — professionally and after hours. I work in communications and radio, specializing in Motorola digital systems: TETRA, P25 and DMR, as well as repeaters and base stations.
TETRA is closest to my heart. I co-run the amateur TetraPoland network — from a base station and terminals to phone apps — and I share it on stage: the talk “Introduction to TETRA and its use in amateur radio” at the international M17 conference (2025) and talks on the TETRA system at the ham radio meeting in Celestynów (2025).
My second passion is flight. I trained in aircraft equipment technology and hold a UAV operator licence (UAVO). I took part in building HELI-500 — a drone with a half-tonne take-off mass — and in R&D projects with the Lublin University of Technology, and I'm co-author of a patent for an unmanned aircraft and its docking station. I work with the Polish Air Force University (LAW) and several other institutions in the broad field of security, and I also prepare expert analyses for specialist entities.
After hours I mix it all together: I build radios, SDR receivers, hardware and software, and drones. I treat this site as a workshop on display — everything I do, in one place. And when I put the soldering iron down, riding a motorcycle is my easy way to unwind.
Have a look at the projects, the repeaters, or just get in touch. 73!
